How do bacteria sense, respond to, and shape their hosts?
The Lab of Host-Microbe Dynamics
We study how symbiotic microbes interact with their hosts, usually focusing on bacteria that live in and on animals. We follow questions in lots of different research directions, but most of our work centers on the animal microbiota.
Our goal is to find fundamental themes that explain host-microbe relationships in diverse contexts so we can understand and influence microbial effects on host health.
